Biography
- Graduated as a Town Planner from the University of New South
Wales in 1977 before being employed as a qualified Town Planner
in three Local Government Councils - Wyong Shire Council, Penrith
City Council and Bankstown City Council.
- Was Senior Development Control Planner at Bankstown City Council
and was head of the Development Control section for 9 years. Responsibilities
included the assessment of developments and building and rezoning
applications ranging from simple changes of use to multi-million
dollar developments such as the Australian Tax Regional Office
and an 18 hole golf and residential complex at East Hills.
- Also appeared as Bankstown Council’s town planning witness
in many Land and Environment Court proceedings, his involvement
including the assessment of the subject application and preparation
of evidence before the Court.
- Graduated Bachelor of Laws (Honours) including a high distinction
in Environmental Studies from the University of Technology in
1992.
- His consultancy practice has a strong emphasis in all matters
relating to Local Government including development, building and
rezoning applications. In particular, he appears as a Town Planning
witness in Land and Environment Court appeals for both private
and public clients which include South Sydney Council, Ku-ring-gai
Council and Hornsby Shire Council.
