The NSW Government is defending a move to slug small business owners with land
tax bills that are five years old. Graham West, NSW Parliamentary Secretary, says
that this has to be followed up.

Jones says that small businesses are being 'slugged' with a Land Tax bill going
back five years. He notes that if businesses rent crown land they are paying retrospective
tax. Jones says that a letter from NSW Parliamentary Secretary, Graham West to
the Sydney Lord Mayor, Clover Moore said the NSW Government had 'no authority
to wave or reduce a tax that is properly payable'. Jones asserts that Land Tax
in NSW is 'looting' and 'dishonest'.
