"Carr govt struggles in latest poll"

NSW Premier Bob Carr said he was listening to the concerns of voters after a new poll showed
his government was struggling to retain public support.
According to a Morgan poll taken in March, the Labor government had 51 per cent support on
a two-party preferred basis, compared to 49 per cent for the coalition.
But the poll showed Labor's primary vote support had fallen two points to 39.5 per cent since
an earlier Morgan poll in February, while primary support for the coalition rose 1.5 points
to 43.5 per cent.
Mr Carr said he was listening to the community's concerns on issues such as the unpopular
land tax.
Levels of support for the government appeared to be fluctuating with the February Morgan
Poll, giving Labor 52 per cent two-party support, compared to 48 per cent for the coalition,
he said.
"I would think it shows the sort of fluctuation that you get from month to month, from
poll to poll," he told reporters.
"I'm listening to the community on issues like land tax. I'm saying again there's going
to be a review of taxes in this budget that's coming down."
